Often referred to as the "East Coast" of California, Needles is on an upward trajectory, driven by economic expansion and infrastructure development. Our commitment to fostering a pro-business environment has attracted $100 million in new investments across various sectors, including hospitality, retail, and industrial development. Key examples of this progress include the nearly one million square feet of cannabis production facilities, which have generated over 605 jobs and contribute 36% of our city’s annual budget.

Our dedication to economic growth is also reflected in the opening of the Hampton Inn & Suites, our first interior-entrance hotel. Tourism continues to play a pivotal role in Needles' prosperity, with increased hotel revenues and a growing visitor base at key attractions like the Jack Smith Boat Launch, which welcomed over 500,000 visitors last year.

In addition to economic growth, we are investing heavily in infrastructure improvements. Over the past two years, we have allocated millions of dollars to upgrade streets, water systems, and public spaces. A prime example is the $20 million commitment to vital projects such as water treatment, electricity, and park enhancements. Notable projects include the modernization of our water system, with key initiatives like the Well 11 Treatment Plant nearing completion.

One of our proudest achievements is the recognition of Needles as the first rural city to receive the California Department of Housing and Community Development Prohousing Designation, positioning us as a leader in housing development. This honor, along with substantial grants, will allow us to continue building a sustainable and resilient future for all.

With its expansive off-highway vehicle trails and easy access to the Colorado River, Needles offers countless recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. These outdoor attractions, combined with ongoing efforts to enhance our parks and public spaces, make Needles a vibrant and attractive place to live.
